On Friday 1st May 2015, the Tour De Yorkshire cycle race will pass right through Rosedale Abbey as part of the first stage. Le Tour Yorkshire route departs from Bridlington and winds across the North Yorkshire Moors before arriving at Scarborough for the night. The Rosedale Abbey village website has details of where to park in Rosedale on the day, plus some more information about some of the celebrations planned before and after the peleton passes through.
The Rosedale element of Le Tour Yorkshire route includes a 340 metre climb out of the village and at 2.8kms is the longest ascent of the day. Other Yorkshire landmarks covered on Le Tour Yorkshire route on the first day include Dalby Forest, Pickering, Danby, Grosmont and Robin Hoods Bay.
If you’re travelling to Yorkshire and haven’t secured accommodation for your Tour De Yorkshire visit yet, then check our availability calendar to see if anyone has beaten you to it yet, or if The Old Post Office is still available to book. You’ll have some of the best seats in the house as Le Tour passes, plus a great base to follow the race for the rest of the weekend. Full details of the race are on the main Yorkshire website here.
